(2) Oberhallau Familien Register (MTA Document #0004).

(3) Documentation for the date and place of death is poor.  This date comes from a worksheet developed many years ago by Nancy A. and Martin T. Auer, but no reference regarding a source for that date is provided.  The place is assumed.  More on this issue may be found at The Parents. 

(4) Letter and accompanying worksheets sent from Richard N. Wright, President of the Onondaga Historical Association, to Donald J. Auer, 1355 Dutch Lane, Penngrove, CA 94951, dated 13 October 1976 (MTA Document #0003).

(5) All children's birth dates were taken from records reviewed by Martin T. Auer at the Oberhallau Town Hall and confirmed by Hans Martin Auer's Bible  (MTA Document #0025).  Martin T. Auer's notes recording the Town Hall records have John Martin's birth date as April 28th; the Bible has April 29th.  The Bible reference will be used here.

(6) All children's death dates were taken from the Wright worksheets (MTA Document #0003) except Anna Maria (the child) which comes from an obituary in the Syracuse Post Standard dated 15 June 1901.
